Jean-Frédéric Chevallier had chosen to build his 2013 theatre performance with diversity. His team was composed of artists from Ecuador, Mexico, France as well as from the Bengal village of Morapaï and the Santhal village of Borotalpada, India. He wondered how to inhabit Trimukhi Cultural Centre, what to do inside and outside the building. In some parts, he also introduced extracts from his forthcoming art video film. By combining elements from such different origins, his theatre composition produced unexpected feelings and thoughts. The tittle, THE THING THAT EXISTS WHEN WE AREN’T THERE, was a quotation from Virginia Woolf.
